Patterson, MD. Bringing over a decade of expertise, Patterson joins Ceci- lia Cuntz, MD, and Lindsey Fauveau, MD, in pro- viding cancer care to patients across Louisiana. “Woman’s award-winning care for cancer patients is a hallmark of our commitment to serve women throughout Louisiana. Dr. Patter- son’s wealth of knowledge and specialized expe- rience offer the treatment options our cancer patients need. It is an honor to have Dr. Patterson join our nationally recognized cancer care team,” said Woman’s Hospital President and CEO Rene Ragas. Patterson most recently served as medical direc- tor for The Breast Center at Kent Hospital, affili- ated with Brown University in Rhode Island. She has extensive experience in breast-conserving sur- gery, skin- and nipple-sparing mastectomies, and pregnancy-associated breast cancer. Patterson earned a medical degree at the Uni- versity of Nevada and completed a residency at the University of California, Irvine. n in orthopedic surgery. His experience includes spine care, ortho- pedic evaluations, interpreting diagnostic imag- ing, injections, and assisting in sports medicine surgery. Arcement earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants, and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery. Callie Amedee, PA-C, practices orthopedic medicine at Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove. Her experience includes trauma surgery, critical care, and emergency medicine, along with patient evaluation, surgical assistance, and pro- cedural interventions. Amedee earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Missis- sippi College in Clinton, Miss. She also earned a master’s degree in biology-medical sciences and a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University. FMOLHS Begins Parenting Podcast’s Newest Season Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health Sys- tem (FMOLHS) announced the Season 5 launch of the ParentingU podcast, which provides parents with insights and resources for navigating the jour- ney of parenthood. Season 5, hosted by Stephanie Roussell, focuses on parenting during the summer months. With more than 10,000 downloads and 3,000 video views from earlier seasons, ParentingU continues to grow as a resource for families across Louisiana and Mississippi. “ParentingU has become a trusted compan- ion for parents, helping them feel informed, sup- ported, and empowered,” said Roussell, senior director of brand and strategy at FMOLHS. “In Season 5, we’re taking that support into the sum- mer, covering timely topics so families can focus on what matters most, enjoying time together.” This season’s eight episodes, released every Thursday through July, will explore topics includ- ing water safety, road trips, bug bites, ADHD, and seasonal allergies. In the season’s third episode, Keep Kids Safe Around Water, Kristen Sandoz, MD, a pediatri- cian with Our Lady of Lourdes Children’s Health, joins Roussell to share guidance for parents on keeping children safe around pools, beaches, and water parks, along with tips for staying hydrated in the summer heat. “I’m honored to be part of this season,” said Sandoz. “Summer should be a time of fun and connection for families, and with just a few simple precautions, parents can feel more confident knowing their children are safe around water.” Each episode features a different FMOLHS pediatric provider and is accompanied by related resources, including blog content, visuals, and social media tips. Lane Regional Medical CenterWelcomes Local High School Students for Summer Healthcare Program Lane Regional Medical Center, in collaboration with the Central Louisiana Area Health Education Center (AHEC), is hosting the “A-HEC of a Sum- mer” program, a hands-on summer volunteer experience designed to inspire the next genera- tion of healthcare professionals. The program offers high school students in grades nine through 11, who maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, an opportunity to explore careers in healthcare. Eight students from local schools — Zachary High, Baker High, Central Private, St. Joseph’s Academy, and Catholic High — will spend three weeks at Lane, rotating through a variety of hos- pital departments and shadowing healthcare pro- fessionals. Participants gain insights into medical careers, learn about current health issues, practice basic patient care skills, and earn CPR certification. Jamie Patterson, MD
