Ochsner Names Quentin Alleva, MD, Baton Rouge Regional Medical Director Ochsner Baton Rouge is proud to announce that Quentin Alleva, MD, has been named regional medical director, effective June 30. In this role, All- eva will provide medical staff leadership and sup- port provider engagement and growth — while advancing quality and excellence in patient care across the region. Alleva joined Ochsner Baton Rouge as a staff radiologist in 2008 at Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove. Since 2012, he has served as regional chair of radiology. In 2018, he was named associ- ate medical director of medical specialties for the Baton Rouge region. After earning his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, Alleva completed an intern- ship and residency at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. He went on to complete a fellowship in body imaging at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and is certified through the American Board of Radiology. Alleva is also a graduate of the Louisiana Hos- pital Association Physician Leadership Academy series as well as the Ochsner Leadership Institute Physician Administrative Leadership Program and Emerging Physician Leader Program. Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, FranklinMedical Center Partner Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Franklin Medical Center have entered into a new partner- ship to enhance cancer care in the Winnsboro region. Oncology and hematology services will con- tinue to be offered at Mary Bird Perkins’ clinic on the campus of Franklin Medical Center. Manish Dhawan, MD, will provide medical oncology and hematology services, supported by oncology nurses with years of service to the Winnsboro community, with the support of Mary Bird Per- kins’ multidisciplinary team and resources. Dha- wan has served on the medical staff of the hospi- tal for over five years. “This partnership is rooted in a shared com- mitment to saving lives and supporting patients throughout every step of their cancer journey,” said Jonas Fontenot, PhD, president and chief executive officer of Mary Bird Perkins. Ochsner Grows Orthopedic Medicine Team in Baton Rouge Ochsner Health welcomes four new orthope- dic and sports medicine providers to the Baton Rouge region: Joseph Halphen, PA-C, practices orthope- dic medicine at Ochsner Health Center – Cen- tral. His services include fracture management, wound care, and joint injections. Halphen earned a bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Louisiana Academy of Physi- cian Assistants. Lindsey Thompson, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in orthopedic medicine at Ochsner Health Center – Prairieville and Ochsner Health Center – Gonzales.
