FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake Center for Facial Reconstruction and Plastic Surgery welcomes Cheng Ma, MD, the first physician to receive the LSU Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship. Recognized by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the new one-year fellowship program is currently the only fellowship for facial plastic surgery in Louisiana.
Currently a medical resident at Penn State College of Medicine, Ma will join a team of internationally recognized specialists in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, facial nerve disorders, nasal deformities, cleft and craniofacial care, facial aesthetics, and advanced facial reconstruction from cancer and traumatic injuries.
During his time at the Lake, Ma will receive in-depth exposure to a full range of facial plastic and reconstructive procedures, helping a diverse patient population recover from congenital conditions, cancer, facial trauma, facial nerve disorders and other complex conditions. He will attain dual board certification in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and contribute to resident education through the healthcare system’s Graduate Medical Excellence program.
