Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center confirmed Wednesday that Deputy Nicholas Tullier has been discharged and transferred to TIRR Memorial Hermann, one of the nation’s leading rehabilitation hospitals, in Houston, Texas. He was discharged at approximately 9:30 a.m. today.
The dedicated surgeons, physicians, nurses and support staff who cared for Deputy Tullier gathered to wish him well as he left after 122 days of care at Our Lady of the Lake.
“It has been our honor to serve Deputy Tullier, and we pray for his continued healing as he begins the next phase of his recovery,” said Our Lady of the Lake President and CEO K. Scott Wester. “I also want to recognize and thank our team of physicians and clinical staff who, for nearly four months to the day, provided exceptional care to Nick and were a steadfast source of hope and prayer during a difficult time.”
Deputy Tullier was one of six officers who was shot during an ambush attack in Baton Rouge on July 17, 2016.
