Associates receive benefits such as continuing education tuition and healthy lifestyle reimbursement programs, an employee referral program, adoption assistance, and personal and professional development offerings. Associates also have access to low-cost, healthy snacks, as well as no-cost “lunch and learn” seminars on emotional, financial, and physical health; consultations with a registered dietician, flu shots, and other products and services. In addition, AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana sponsors public events that encourage its associates to volunteer in their communities.
“Our associates make it possible for us to carry out our mission every day. And this award is further evidence of why we have built a team that is so dedicated to our members and their communities,” said Kyle Viator, market president for AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana. “It is a privilege to lead an organization with this level of commitment to its people.”
In 2015, AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana was recognized by Louisiana’s Department of Health as a Level One “WellSpot,” the highest rating level under the state’s WellAhead initiative. Some of the criteria that AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana met to achieve this designation included offering tobacco cessation program coverage as part of its health insurance coverage for associates, providing support for breast feeding mothers, and implementing a Worksite Wellness Program.
