Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health held its annual asthma camp June 11-15 to help kids with asthma have safe and fun activities while also learning more about their asthma. Trained medical staff helped campers learn how to better manage their asthma while also ensuring they are able to experience typical summer fun.
As part of activities on Wednesday, campers enjoyed water play at BREC’s Liberty Lagoon in the morning, followed by a visit from EMS personnel who explained to children what to do in the event of an asthma emergency. Children were given the opportunity to tour an ambulance and have their questions answered by paramedics. Representatives from AmeriHealth Caritas were also on hand to provide additional safety tips to camp participants.
