Woman’s Hospital announced Sophia Solomon as the new senior vice president of quality. In her new role, Solomon will use her more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership and clinical expertise to strategically lead regulatory compliance efforts and ensure high standards of patient care.
“Our team at Woman’s is committed to leading the way in exceptional patient care,” said Rene Ragas, president and CEO of Woman’s Hospital. “Sophia brings a wealth of knowledge and fresh perspective that will help us best serve our patients and the community.”
Most recently, Solomon served as the vice president of quality, performance improvement, risk, and safety at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. Solomon has received several honors for her work, including being named Louisiana Great 100 Nurse, the Baton Rouge District Nurses Excellence Award, and was selected for the 2023 HCA Healthcare Sponsorship, McKinsey Academy Executive Leadership Program.
Solomon earned a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Southern University in Baton Rouge and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Grambling State University. She is a licensed registered nurse and ANCC board-certified nurse executive.
