Ochsner Grows Orthopedic Medicine Team in Baton Rouge

Ochsner Health welcomes four new orthopedic and sports medicine providers to the Baton Rouge region: 

·Joseph Halphen, PA-C, practices orthopedic medicine at Ochsner Health Center – Central. His services include fracture management, wound care, and joint injections. Halphen earned a bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants. 

·Lindsey Thompson, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in orthopedic medicine at Ochsner Health Center – Prairieville and Ochsner Health Center – Gonzales. She evaluates and interprets diagnostic imaging and assists in orthopedic surgery. She has managed patient care from diagnosis through postsurgical recovery. Thompson earned a master’s degree in family nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. 

·Patrick Arcement, PA-C, practices orthopedic medicine at Ochsner Health Center – Denham Springs and Ochsner Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute at Elite Training Complex – Burbank. His experience includes spine care, orthopedic evaluations, interpreting diagnostic imaging, injections, and assisting in sports medicine surgery. Arcement earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants, and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery. 

·Callie Amedee, PA-C, practices orthopedic medicine at Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove. Her experience includes trauma surgery, critical care, and emergency medicine, along with patient evaluation, surgical assistance, and procedural interventions. Amedee earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. She also earned a master’s degree in biology-medical sciences and a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Louisiana State University. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants.
