Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center will host a community ribbon cutting event to showcase new technology at its Hammond location on Sept. 16 from 4-6 p.m. on the Cancer Center’s campus at 15728 Jay Smith Drive in Hammond.
Guests can take part in a guided tour of the Cancer Center following a brief program featuring Mary Bird Perkins leadership. They also have the opportunity to meet the physicians, nurses and technologists, and enjoy light refreshments and giveaways.
New technology at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Hammond includes:
• Omni Legend – An all-digital PET/CT system that delivers high-sensitivity, AI-enabled molecular imaging to diagnose, stage and monitor cancer as well as neurological and cardiovascular conditions.
• Elekta Evo CT-Linac – A next-generation linear accelerator that pairs AI-enhanced CT imaging with treatment delivery, allowing the care team to account for day-to-day changes in a patient’s anatomy and target tumors with greater precision.
• Vision RT – Surface-guided technology that tracks a patient’s position in real time and automatically starts or stops the radiation beam as a tumor or target organ moves.
