Eboni Thompson Buchanan Joins Woman's as Vice President of Physician Services

Woman’s Hospital welcomed Eboni Buchanan as vice president of physician services. She is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Woman’s physician practices and the continued advancement of clinical services.

Buchanan, a Baton Rouge native who was born at Woman’s Hospital, comes to Woman’s from MedStar Health in Washington, D.C., where she served as senior director of Women’s and Infants’ Services. Her experience is primarily in leading clinical operations and strategy for sub-specialties in health systems across the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

“I am thrilled to be returning to the place I call home to care for a community that helped shape me personally and professionally,” said Buchanan. “Woman’s has such a tremendous reputation as a strong, independent hospital focused on women and infants, and I’m excited to be part of future growth and strategic initiatives.”

“Eboni clearly has a great deal of experience in leading programs focused on women’s and infant health, but it’s her passion for improving the health of our community that has me truly excited to have her join our team,” said Barbara Griffith, MD, president and CEO of Woman’s Hospital. “Woman’s has exciting future plans, and I look forward to Eboni leading the charge.”

Buchanan earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Orleans and her Master of Health Services Administration from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the National Association of Health Service Executives.
