Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University will award Nursing Alum Delores “Dee” LeJeune ’69 at its graduation on May 11 at the Raising Cane’s River Center with its first ever honorary degree.

LeJeune served as a bed-side nurse, nurse leader, chief nursing officer, Joint Commission consultant, hospital chief operating officer, president and CEO, all before retiring in 2012.

There will be 175 students graduating from the schools of arts and sciences, nursing, and health professions.

Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute announced that it has received reaccreditation under the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation Program. Our Lady of the Lake first received accreditation in 1990.  

The ACS CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for patients with cancer by setting and raising standards.

On May 4, Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital will hold its first NICU Reunion, reuniting NICU graduates and families with the nurses and staff who cared for them. The reunion will give patients and families a chance to visit with team members and celebrate their amazing journeys with activities, games, and treats.
