Last week, Ochsner Health Center – Denham Springs South, along with the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the facility’s grand re-opening to serve the medical needs of the community. As the region continues to rebuild from the devastating August flooding, Ochsner Health Center – Denham Springs South, located at 139 Veterans Boulevard, provides residents much needed access to primary care, specialty services and urgent care.

In recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1, Our Lady of the Lake offered free, confidential HIV screenings and education throughout the week at events across Baton Rouge. A special prayer service was also be held for community members to participate in prayer and reflection for those affected by HIV and AIDS.
Screenings will also be available Sunday, December 4, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 3912 Gus Young Ave., Baton Rouge, from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The Louisiana Long Term Care Foundation (LLTCF) awarded 10 nursing scholarships to recipients employed in Louisiana’s long term care facilities. These scholarships support education and training to help improve the high-quality of clinical care provided in Louisiana’s nursing facilities.
