Our Lady of the Lake Ascension, part of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS), will become Our Lady of the Lake St. Elizabeth. The updated name aims to honor the original name while maintaining the connection to our Franciscan mission.

The event is being held today at Our Lady of the Lake Ascension on Highway 30 in Gonzales.

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) unveiled the new Central Louisiana State Hospital (CLSH) in Pineville with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The state-of-the-art facility provides care for up to 116 patients with severe and persistent mental illnesses, with a focus on rehabilitation and preparing patients for success. Long in the making, the $33 million renovation and relocation project marks a new chapter for the historic state hospital.

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University received a $12,000 grant from NetVUE to create a vocational discernment cohort for a student development training program called The Empowering Futures Project to equip participants with the tools necessary to guide students to discover their calling in life.
