Chevron and Ochsner Health continue to offer their Lung Cancer Awareness, Education, and Prevention Program for a third consecutive year thanks to a $50,000 donation from Chevron. The program will be offered in Jefferson Parish for the first time and continue to reach community members in St. Tammany, East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Ascension, St. Charles, Terrebonne, and Lafourche parishes.

Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a free screening on Nov. 14 at the CIS Prairieville location, 37292 Market Place Drive, Suite A.
Guests will receive a complimentary electrocardiogram (EKG) and blood pressure screenings. An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. The screening can detect blockages, the thickness of the heart wall, past heart attacks and more. Results will be reviewed on site.
