Baton Rouge orthopedic surgeon Dr. Meredith Warner in conjunction with Woman’s Foundation and Woman’s Hospital will present “Early Diagnosis & Treatment of Diabetic Charcot Arthropathy” for physicians and physician assistants on Oct. 29. This informative program takes place from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the J.E. Dunn Conference Center at 100 Woman’s Way in Baton Rouge. This conference is meant to be multidisciplinary and will foster coordination of care among specialties.
In her practice, Warner treats a number of patients who suffer from diabetic Charcot neuroarthropathy, which can result in fracturing, instability, foot deformity, severe inflammation to the feet and ulcers often resulting in amputation. Dr. Warner and leading physician experts in this field will share views and invite discussion on reducing amputations through evidence-based medicine, coordination of care and increased communication among specialists.
Dr. Warner has extensive experience in complex foot and ankle reconstruction. She is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery. She served with the U.S. Air Force as a combat surgeon in Iraq and Afghanistan, and earned an MBA from LSU.
Attendees can register online at warnerorthopedics.com/charcot-conference. Pre-registration before Oct. 26 is $75, while onsite registration is $125. For more information contact Ashley@womansfoundation.org or call (337) 806-9392.
